Version 4.1.9 and Another Improv Video in the Works

The latest version of Rhythm Lab is 4.1.9. This version fixes a weird bug that came up with a user who could not get some of his custom patterns to load (the app was crashing) when the app updated to v. 4. 1.8. He thought the problem was with corrupted pattern files, but when he sent me the JSON files, they loaded fine in my test iPads. I had to mess around for a while before I could reproduce the crash, but finally found a weird bug in the underlying data / menu pipeline which seems to solve the problem (at least fixes the crash I was able to create). I also had to fix a minor auto-layout bug (auto-layout is a system in iOS that makes the app responsive to different screen dimensions).

I had so much fun creating the first Improv video (2-5-1 progressions in various rhythmic settings) that I decided to make more. The one I am working on now involves improvising using additive rhythms – I plan to use some apps alongside Rhythm Lab via the Audiobus app to make it really fun and interesting. Watch for it – I hope to have it done soon!

Have fun tapping!
